NEW ROCHELLE, NY -- After two matches in the morning at the Florida State College at Jacksonville Tournament, the No. 16 Monroe College women's volleyball team traveled over to Lake City, Fla., to visit Florida Gateway College in the evening to close out its weekend. The Mustangs came out on top, 3-0, to improve to 10-4 on the year.

The Iona Prep Varsity 4+ boat of Nicholas Calbo '19, Caleb Donnelly '18, Owen O'Meara '18, Dewayne Sealy II '19 and Joseph Kramer '18 as coxswain won gold and the Hudson Boatworks trophy at the King's Head Regatta on Sept. 24.

NEW ROCHELLE, NY -- Fueled by 376 yards on the ground, a pair of return touchdowns and another lockdown performance by the defense, the No. 17 Monroe College football team finished up its four-game road stand to start the season with a 58-0 victory at Thaddeus Stevens College of Technology on Saturday at Bevilacqua Stadium. The Mustangs improve to 4-0 with the win, while Stevens drops to 3-1.

NEW ROCHELLE, NY -- The Iona College golf program won its second contest of its 2017-18 season on Monday afternoon.  The Gaels took the top spot of the one-day Father George Hill Shootout hosted by Manhattan College at the Huntington Country Club in Huntington, NY.

The Gaels as a team shot 294 (+14), beating out Saint Peter's by one stroke and Manhattan by two.  Hofstra placed fourth with 300 (+20), and St. Francis (NY) placed fifth at 319 (+39).

NEW ROCHELLE, NY -- The Iona College volleyball three-match win streak was snapped this afternoon as NJIT protected home court with a 3-0 (25-17, 25-19, 25-19) non-conference victory this afternoon in Newark.

Jamie Smith led the attack for Iona (5-10) with 11 kills on a .500 hitting percentage to go along with six digs and six assists. Emma Rose added 18 assists while Claire Archibald posted eight kills, six digs and three blocks.

The Committee on Corporations, Authorities and Commissions (CAC) has jurisdiction over the laws concerning private, not-for-profit, and public corporations in New York State. NEW YORK, NY -- Retailers caught and found guilty of selling untaxed cigarettes in New York State risk losing other state-issued licenses, including lottery and alcohol sales.

The New York State Department of Taxation and Finance announced that it has joined forces with the New York State Gaming Commission and State Liquor Authority in an initiative to further reduce sales of contraband cigarettes.

NEW ROCHELLE, NY -- After coming off a big win a few days before, CNR Women's Soccer team fell short too Pratt Institute in a HVIAC conference game. Blue Angel's had Pratt shutout for most of the first half, until Katherine Shan from Pratt scored in the 32nd minute of the match. Going into halftime the score was 1-0.

NEW ROCHELLE, NY -- The Iona College men's soccer program dropped its second Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference game of the season at Monmouth on Wednesday night by a final score of 3-2.

The Hawks got a pair of goals in the first half and withstood the Gaels comeback attempt in the second half to earn their first MAAC victory.

Monmouth got in the board with redshirt Freshman John Antunes burying a pass from rookie Dan Frisch-Harmon.  Iona found itself in a 2-0 hole late in the first half with junior Zachary Pereira scoring his second of the season in the 43rd minute.

NEW ROCHELLE, NY -- The New Rochelle Fire Department last week installed six new Automatic CPR devices, enabling them to deliver uninterrupted lifesaving circulation to patients in cardiac distress. The devices- $16,000 each- were obtained through an 85% federal FEMA grant.  Department members have completed training and the devices are installed at each firehouse and will be carried on all medical calls.
