NEW ROCHELLE, NY -- Hector Morales, 52, was murdered in New Rochelle this past August. Married and a father of three, Morales was brutally beaten, robbed and left for dead by three men who jumped him near the Centre Avenue Bridge as he was coming home from dinner at the Olibar restaurant at 583 Main Street.

While the police await a report from the New York City Medical Examiner, his case is classified by the New Rochelle Police Department as “assault and robbery” not a homicide. Either way, Morales is dead and is family is in mourning.

WHITE PLAINS, NY -- Westchester County Executive Robert P. Astorino proposed a $268 million capital budget for 2018 that includes large investments in the county’s parks, roads, bridges, sewer infrastructure and affordable housing.

In particular, the proposal includes $59.8 million for park improvements, $36.6 million for sewer and water districts, and $7.5 million for land acquisition and infrastructure improvements for affordable housing developments, along with additional investments in the county’s refuse district and emergency services operations.

NEW ROCHELLE, NY -- New York State Senator George Latimer, the Democrat Party Nominee for Westchester County Executive, was involved in a serious, previously undisclosed car crash in New Rochelle over the summer in the midst of his Democrat Primary Campaign against County Legislator Ken Jenkins.
