NEW ROCHELLE, NY -- Talk of the Sound has learned that Shadia Alvarez, the House IV Principal at New Rochelle High School, and currently a primary target of a New Rochelle School District investigation into grade-fixing involving Apex Credit Recovery, was effectively barred for life from working in the New York City Public School System following a sustained investigation by The Special Commissioner of Investigation for the New York City School District (SCI) into allegations of financial fraud and mismanagement involving unpaid invoices in excess of $100,000.
District Lied in Response to Freedom of Information Requests
NEW ROCHELLE, NY -- Invoices obtained by Talk of the Sound under a Freedom of Information (FOIL) Request suggest that as many as 32 students may have been involved in a grade-fixing scandal at New Rochelle High School.
Talk of the Sound began reporting on irregularities with the Apex Credit Recovery program at the high school in 2017. A FOIL request in November 2017 was denied. We first reported on the involvement of House Principal Shadia Alvarez on May 7, 2018.

NEW ROCHELLE, NY -- “I’m pissed about it,” an emotional Anthony Bambrola, Davis Elementary School Principal told a gathering of the PTA on Tuesday — mostly moms, a few dads and one young child.
“But I’m pissed with a purpose,” he added.
“Pissed” about what, and with what purpose, was unclear.
What is clear is that the situation at Davis underscores the longstanding practice of withholding damaging information from the public and other means of deception adopted by Jeff Kehl, the Board of Education and central and building administrators.
