NEW ROCHELLE, NY -- Behind a career-high 29 points from Sam Cassell Jr., the Iona College men’s basketball team won a sixth straight game by upending Rider 95-76 on the road in MAAC action this evening.
Cassell knocked down a career-best seven 3-pointers on the way to his career-high 29 points, adding six rebounds and three assists. Off the bench, Jordan Washington added 24 points on 10-of-14 shooting to go along with three blocks and two steals. NEW ROCHELLE, NY -- The College of New Rochelle Women's Basketball team ran into a red hot Valley Forge squad in non-conference action Saturday afternoon. In the end, CNR would fall by a 75-57 margin, and in the process lost its third straight. CNR now stands at 9-8 overall, while the Patriots improved to an impressive 16-4 record.

Monroe jumped out to a 6-0 lead on baskets from Jada Banks and Shania Johnson. After an Owls layup, the Mustangs scored four more to lead 10-2. NEW ROCHELLE, NY -- The Monroe College Men's Basketball team earned a hard-fought, nail-biter of a victory against Our Saviour Lutheran School on Wednesday. After building a 17-point lead in the first half, they nearly lost the game before a late rally lifted them to a 76-69 victory.
After Hampus Ahlin made a beautiful pass to Dani Koljanin to open the scoring, the Falcons scored the next eight points to take an 8-2 lead. The game started on a tough note when senior Marina Lizarazu picked up her second foul midway through the first quarter, forcing Head Coach Billi Godsey to put the reigning MAAC Player of the Week to take her first rest in six games.
