NEW ROCHELLE, NY -- New Rochelle High School faculty and staff will participate in an active shooter drill this Friday, Jan. 27 at 1:30 p.m. within the school building.
This is the first-ever active shooter drill that will involve school district employees. NEW ROCHELLE, NY -- A man died and two others were taken to seperate area hospitals after they were found unresponsive in a house at 3 Pinebrook Road late Monday night.
Residents in the house became concerned after not hearing from the three men for a while on Monday evening. When one resident went to investigate, he found the men unresponsive, apparent victims of a narcotics overdose, said New Rochelle Police Lieutenant David M. Lonergan. NEW ROCHELLE, NY -- A New Rochelle Police officer was involved in a fatal auto collision early Monday morning in White Plains. The black Jeep Cherokee crashed into a tree on Mamaroneck Avenue.
The police officer was driving the vehicle. He had to be cut out of the vehicle by White Plains firefighters, sources say. He was rushed to an area hospital where he went into surgery.
The passenger was killed on impact.

NEW ROCHELLE, NY -- A man suffered burns to both arms as he tried to push his docked cabin cruiser out of his slip, away from a boat fully-involved in flames next to his boat at the Wright Island Marina. No one was on board the boat that first caught fire.
The man was able to untie his boat and push it away before jumping from his boat to the dock. A second person on his boat escaped without injury. The boat then drifted across the harbor to Davenport Neck where the burning boat started a brush fire as it reached the shore.New RochellePolice & Fire
NEW ROCHELLE, NY -- New Rochelle police responded last night to multiple calls of a disturbance at 138 Winthrop Avenue. Arriving units located a man in his 50's with a serious stab wound to his chest in front of 138 Winthrop Avenue. The male was transported by ambulance to Jacobi Medical Center in the Bronx where he subsequently died from the wound at approximately 1 a.m.
Responding police units also located a woman in her 30's in the vicinity believed to be a participant in this incident.
