The Jay Heritage Center presents “Manhattan Seascapes—1970s” by Robert Gambee at its 1907 Carriage House, 210 Boston Post Road, Rye, New York. A portion of the proceeds from photographs purchased at the reception will benefit The Rye Arts Center or other locally designated charities of the buyer's choice including Jay Heritage Center, The Rye Historical Society, ArtsWestchester, and Spread Wings Foundation. NEW ROCHELLE, NY -- Carole Troum, the Executive Director of HOPE Community Services, will be the featured guest at the League of Women Voters’ Coffee and Conversation on Friday, January 18th, from 9:30 am – 11:00 am, in the Meeting Room of the New Rochelle Public Library. Ms. Troum will give an overview of wide range of services provided by HOPE and will discuss the seasonal challenges faced by our community’s most vulnerable population. Her informal presentation will be followed by a Question and Answer session. The free program is open to all and light refreshments will be served.

NEW ROCHELLE, NY -- A series of six free African dance workshops for children ages 7 and up, and their parents and grandparents, will be held at the New Rochelle Public Library on Saturday mornings, from 11:00 am to 12:00 noon, beginning January 19th and continuing through February 23rd.  The popular workshops are led by Anthony Wooden of the Bokandeye African-American Dance Theater, who provides instruction of native African dances while also exploring their meanings and the occasions on which they’re performed.  The workshops help participants gain an understanding of African village life

PELHAM, NY -- The Picture House Regional Film Center (TPH) in Pelham, NY welcomes the New Year with the return of one if its most popular film programs, Sunday Cinema. Each Sunday in January TPH will show an important and timely, yet less celebrated film, on the big screen in the Main Hall. The 2019 Sunday Cinema series kicks-off with a 50th anniversary screening of the cinéma vérité film, Inquiring Nuns on Sunday, January 6th and Sunday, January 20th. On Sunday, January 13th and Sunday January 27th, Sunday Cinema will feature the award-winning documentary Science Fair.

NEW ROCHELLE, NY -- The New Rochelle Public Library and the Huguenot Children’s Library will close at 12:00 noon on Monday, December 24th, and will be closed all day on Tuesday, December 25th. The libraries will resume regular operating hours on Wednesday, December 26th.

The libraries will close at 1:00 pm on Monday, December 31st for New Year’s Eve, and will be closed all day on Tuesday, January 1st for New Year’s Day. The libraries will resume regular operating hours on Wednesday, January 2nd.
