NEW ROCHELLE, NY -- The New Rochelle Public Library will be one of the host venues for the fourth annual Festinema Junior, a French Film Festival for Children organized by the Alliance Française of Westchester, on Sunday, March 19, 2017. The Festival’s award-winning French-speaking films that have been selected for English-speaking audiences tend to transcend language barriers, allowing all audience members the ability to understand and enjoy the stories. The free films will be shown on the big screen in the library’s Ossie Davis Theater.

NEW ROCHELLE, NY -- Lyric soprano Coralie Gallet and pianist José García-León will perform a classical concert celebrating the advent of spring on Sunday, March 26, 2017, from 3:00 pm – 4:00 pm in the Ossie Davis Theater of the New Rochelle Public Library. The program will feature vocal and piano music from the Italian, Spanish and French repertoire, with works by Vivaldi, Ravel, Falla, Poulenc, among others. A donation of $2.00 is suggested at the door. The concert is made possible by the Friends of the New Rochelle Public Library

Doctorow, joined Mayor Noam Bramson at New Rochelle Public Library on Thursday morning, February 23rd to announce a $125,000 grant from New York State that will support the Doctorow Legacy Initiative, honoring the acclaimed author in the city that inspired his best-known work, Ragtime.

NEW ROCHELLE, NY -- A free family concert, “An Afternoon of Celtic Harp Music,” will be performed by the Westchester Harp Ensemble in the Ossie Davis Theater of the New Rochelle Public Library on Sunday, March 12th, from 3:00 pm – 4:00 pm. The varied program of traditional & popular Celtic tunes will include the world premiere of "Two Calypso," composed by Allan Colin and arranged for harp by Lois Colin, as well as classic pieces arranged for the harp: Canon in D by Johann Pachelbel & The Little Fountain.
