Complaint filed by Iona College against the City of New Rochelle

NEW ROCHELLE, NY — Iona College’s decision last week to file a lawsuit against the City of New Rochelle culminates a nearly year-long dispute over attempts by the college to develop its business school. The college believes it is free to execute its plan without interference from the City; the City believes it has the right to require Iona College to seek a special permit following a public input process.

NEW ROCHELLE, NY -- At least once a week, Brittnee Sabatino and her grade colleagues set aside time to work on how they can improve the quality of student learning.

As a first-grade teacher, Sabatino's focus for most of January and February is to elevate the quality of "math talk" - the standard of speaking and listening on math topics, and effectively critiquing the reasoning of others.

NEW ROCHELLE, NY -- New Rochelle High School visual arts students participated in the regional Mamaroneck Artists' Guild program, "2017 Young Artists on the Rise" and were honored at a reception at the MAG Gallery in Larchmont on Feb. 1.

The show was on display from Jan. 25 through Feb. 4.

NEW ROCHELLE, NY -- Not many students write to the president of the United States, and even fewer hear back from him. New Rochelle High School senior Alyssa Purrier is delighted to be in both groups.

It was a regular October day in Carol Donnelly's computer apps class for grades 10 through 12, and students were learning how to use the Microsoft Office Suite and write a business letter.

Some students wanted to write to a real person. Donnelly thought it was a good idea that would make them excited about the class. She suggested writing to a famous person.
