NEW ROCHELLE, NY -- After recent changes in the Facilities Department of the City School District of New Rochelle, the effective hourly rate to rent the New Rochelle High School swimming pool a two-hour session in July 2017 is $236.63. By September, the effective rate will rise to $273.15. These rates are in line with the going rate to rent a full-sized indoor swimming pool in Westchester County.

NEW YORK, NY -- The New York State Police issued a total of 10,435 tickets statewide during the 4th of July STOP-DWI enforcement campaign. The special enforcement period began on Saturday, July 1, 2017 and continued until midnight on Tuesday, July 4, 2017.

During the 96-hour campaign, which was funded by the Governor’s Traffic Safety Committee, State Police utilized fixed sobriety checkpoints, additional DWI patrols, ticketed distracted drivers, and conducted underage drinking details.

NEW YORK, NY -- New York State Police Superintendent George P. Beach II has appointed Major Robert C. Gregory as the 34th Troop Commander of Troop K.

Major Gregory began his career with the State Police when he entered the New York State Police Academy on October 1, 1990. Major Gregory served in Troop K upon his graduation from the basic school and transferred to Troop T six years later. In 1998, he returned to Troop K as a Uniform Trooper until he received the permanent rank of Sergeant in February of 2000, and remained in Troop K.

WHITE PLAINS, NY -- Former Webster Elementary School PTA President and Treasurer Rosemary Salvatore, 51, of 14 Whitestone Place, New Rochelle was sentenced on January 19, 2017, in Westchester County Court, in front of Judge Schwartz, Rosemary Salvatore was sentenced as a second felony offender to 1 1/2  to 3 years in state prison, and an order of protection was issued for the victim.  Salvatore had previously made full restitution of $29,633.25 to the victim.

Salvatore is currently in custody at the Taconic Correctional Facility in Bedford Hills, NY.

Diamond was officially replaced last night by the New Rochelle Board of Education last night. It its' Consent Agenda for Personnel Resolutions, the board voted unanimously to approve Resolution #18-65-22, making an interim appointment to Diamond's former position

NEW YORK, NY -- The New York State Police, along with local law enforcement agencies, will increase patrols to crack down on drunk and drugged driving this 4th of July weekend.  In an effort to keep New York highways safe during one of the busiest summer holidays for travel, State Troopers will conduct sobriety checkpoints, along with speeding and seat belt enforcement details throughout the state. This STOP-DWI crackdown will begin on Saturday, July 1, 2017 and run through Tuesday, July 4, 2017.

First, by way of update since I received a harassing phone call from the New Rochelle Police last week, at the behest of Vinny Mirabile, there has been no resolution.

On June 23, City Manager Charles B. Strome indicated that the New Rochelle Police Department had received my Internal Affairs Complaint and would get me the records I requested under a Freedom of Information request.

“You should get all the stuff you asked for in your FOIL request and a formal response to your Internal Affairs complaint,” Strome said in an email.
