WHITE PLAINS, NY -- Bryan Stamps, 15,  of New Rochelle pleaded guilty to Assault in the First Degree, a class B felony, related to a stabbing at New Rochelle High School Jan. 18, 2018. Westchester County Court Judge Barry Warhit accepted the plea.

Stamps has been remanded into custody at Woodfield Cottage in Valhalla. He is scheduled to appear in Westchester County Court for sentencing Jan. 24, 2019. At that time, Stamps will be sentenced to 1-3 years in state prison.

NEW YORK, NY – A newly-formed coalition of counties, cities, towns, villages, and school districts in the State of New York, along with state and countywide professional and advocacy organizations, filed a letter with the Treasury Department and the Internal Revenue Servicerequesting withdrawal of the proposed regulations issued on August 23 that, if finalized, would deny a full charitable deduction for donations to the charitable funds authorized by a number of red and blue states.

WHITE PLAINS, NY -- Ramel Douglas of Mount Vernon was arraigned in Westchester County Court before Judge Larry Schwartz on charges related to the vehicular death of a New Rochelle man stemming from a car crash in June, 2016.

A Westchester County Grand Jury handed up a three-count indictment against Douglas on the following charges: Criminally Negligent Homicide, a class E felony, Assault in the Third Degree, and Reckless Driving, both misdemeanors.

WHITE PLAINS, NY -- Tyler Davidson, 38, of New Rochelle was sentenced Tuesday by Acting Supreme Court Judge Susan Cacace to ten years probation for promoting and possessing images of child sexual exploitation. At the time of his arrest in March, Davidson was a special education teacher at Lewis and Clark High School in the Bronx. Davidson has been ordered to surrender his teaching license.

NEW ROCHELLE, NY --  Jose F. Olmos-Torres appeared today in the City Court of New Rochelle for a felony hearing on a charge of Second Degree Murder in the death of Nurten Seljuk.

 

Seljuk’s body was found last Friday covered in trash laying in the driveway of the New Rochelle Armory. Her skull was caved in according to police sources.

 

David Rich of Legal Aide Society, representing Olmos-Torres, withdrew the prior request for a felony hearing and waived the matter to a Grand Jury.

NEW ROCHELLE, NY -- Talk of the Sound has confirmed that Jose F. Olmos, also known as Jose Olmos-Torres, is a Mexican national who entered the country illegally on at least three occasions and was deported twice. This according to the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement Agency of the Department of Homeland Security.

“Jose Olmos-Torres, an illegally present citizen and national of Mexico, was previously removed from the U.S. as an expedited removal on two separate occasions in 2009,” said Rachael Yong Yow, Public Affairs Officer for ICE New York.

NEW ROCHELLE, NY -- A woman allowed three men to enter her boyfriend’s apartment so they could tie him up and rob him at gunpoint, according to Westchester County District Attorney Anthony A. Scarpino, Jr. 

Augustus Moore, 29, of the Bronx and Madisyn Pettaway, 22, of Jersey City, New Jersey, have been indicted on a multicount indictment for burglary, robbery and weapons charges. Moore was arraigned today before Westchester County Court Judge Susan Cacace. The arrest of Pettaway is pending.
