Good neighbor...

The Journal News reports:

‘I heard like a loud boom. It sounded like glass shattering,’ neighbor Marc Esrig said. That was followed by popping noises Esrig thought were the tires on homeowner Irving Korwin’s 1997 Cadillac that was burning in his garage.

Teenagers were outside screaming, Esrig said. After calling the fire department and seeing the flames ‘get kind of high,’ Esrig ran across the street and began banging on his Korwin’s bedroom window to get him out of the house."

Think you are paying too much in property taxes? You're right!

The Journal News reports

Westchester County property owners paid the highest property taxes in the country last year, according to new data from the U.S. Census Bureau.

The median property tax bill in Westchester hit $8,422 in 2007, the highest of all mid- to large-sized counties, according to the 2007 American Community Survey. The median is the midpoint, meaning half of property owners paid more and half paid less.

We continue to receive numerous reports from individuals and parents on the negative substandard climate children are subjected to in the Trinity School cafeteria. Some of these reports include screaming, yelling and berating on the part of adults directed toward our children. If this is true, it’s probably not such a bad thing for the fourth and fifth graders to have only 15 minutes to stand in line, purchase and eat their meals.

The fact is that our children are being socialized to behave like animals. Some will argue that this is not true or simply an exaggeration. It is not difficult to conclude that there is a direct connection between how adults treat our children and how the children behave while they develop their self-image. If you treat them with dignity and respect, they will behave in a dignified and respectful manner. The opposite is also true.

Sycamore Park - Save It !!!

September 19, 2008 - 04:28

Sycamore Park was once a park to be proud of for its nearby residence, but that has changed. Today, Sycamore Park is a disgrace. The basketball court that once stood is long gone. The swings, slides, park benches, and signs are covered with gang and vulgar graffiti. It has become a park where children no longer play. Instead, petty Mexican gang members can be seen entering the park from its Kings Hwy entrance, to conduct drug deals near the playground equipment. One only has to visit the Sycamore Park to verify that all I say is true. The Mayor's Office doesn't want to do anything to clean it up, the City Manager's Office also turns it back to it and The Department of Parks and Recreation make it seam like the park doesn't even exist. This is just another example of how City Hall pays attention only to the North End and Screws the South End. And where is Lou Trangucci?

Unified Court System, State of New York Pays New Rochelle Community Pulse a Visit

September 18, 2008 - 00:05

It seems that someone from the Unified Court System of the State of New York made their way to this blog. We wonder what they might have been looking for. One thing is for sure, they did not find New Rochelle Community Pulse by accident. As the image demonstrates, they searched for "new rochelle schools blog" using the MSN Search Engine. We hope they were looking for what we have been trying to expose; among many things, the inequities as well as the ENRONian traits that characterize the City School District of New Rochelle. If they were not looking for what we want them to pay attention to, at this juncture there is no denying that they did not know what was happening here in New Rochelle. Information is responsibility. Whoever was on the computer at the other end, spent over 20 minutes and viewed 29 pages.
