It hardly seemed worth a story last month when Schools Superintendent Richard Organisciak informed the board the New Rochelle Fund for Excellence Pancake Breakfast for 2009 had been cancelled because the traditional Thanksgiving Day Parade had been cancelled and the two events were linked.
It was reported yesterday on WVOX that the parade had been cancelled which is some parents from Jefferson Elementary School learned that school's Twirler group would not be marching this year. As of today, parents have received no official word from the school district regarding the parade leaving many parents frustrated and upset. It was not clear whether the children had been informed that their weeks of practice has been in vain.
It is still not clear what happened here but if Schools Superintendent Richard Organisciak knew that the parade was cancelled and informed the school board and many of the district's administrators why was this information not made known to the administration at Jefferson School, the children and their parents?
