The body of what is believed to be Eoin Curran, a 30-year old Irish national -- missing and presumed drowned for six days -- was recovered this afternoon by the New Rochelle Police Harbor Unit after the body was spotted in the waters off New Rochelle. Curran's family will attempt to make identification of the body, said Charlew Rowe, public affairs office for the the U.S Cost Guard.
UPDATE: The body was found 10 miles south of Mamaroneck, in the vicinity of Huckleberry Island, less than a mile east of David's Island, according to the U.S. Coast Guard. Other sources told Talk of the Sound the body was reported to be caught on a reef and observed by boaters in the area who called authorities at around 1 PM on Saturday.
