New Rates Set For United Water New Rochelle -- 34% Increase

October 15, 2010 - 21:11

United Water.pngHigh Water Costs Drive Rates Up; Report on Fire Hydrants Required

ALBANY, NY (10/14/2010)(readMedia)-- The New York State Public Service Commission (Commission) today authorized increases in United Water New Rochelle's rates for water service to meet federal and state water quality requirements and cover increased costs of water supply. The rate plan covers the period November 1, 2010 through October 31, 2014.

The Commission today adopted the terms of a Joint Proposal containing a four-year rate plan that spreads through 2014, the recovery of costs for ensuring a reliable supply of clean water, instead of recovery of these costs in just a single year. The impact of this action provides for a 10.15 percent annual total revenue increase each year of approximately $3.6 million in rate year one; $4.1 million in rate year two; $4.6 million in rate year three; and $5.1 million in rate year four.

I just want thank Bob Cox and The Talk of the town for his attention and help in getting my story out to the media.

I am hopeing that it will bring to the residents of all the municipalities that are under the reign of the United water company, The tactics that are being used by them when ever a complaint or request for usgae information is put to them .
After my own experience with the local office in New Rochelle, which I will never utilize again.

I strongly recommend to all, that you scrutinize every bill you get by comparing them to the previuos year"s same quarterly bill, and to know if any meter change has been done .ESPECIALLY in a commercial or multi familly dwelling. This is where they try to say( OOHHH it must be a leak in your building)...(Sorry I went thruogh that and proved them VERY wrong.)

It is very unfortunate in this day and age that public service companies that are owned by MEGA Corporations ,That arent american owned can dictate the cost of our own resources (WATER) being the one i am refering to.

Westchester County Fair Campaign Practices Committee Finds Oppenheimer Attacks are Intentionally Misleading and Factually Inaccurate

WHITE PLAINS – State Senate candidate Bob Cohen’s campaign today demanded that Senator Oppenheimer stop her campaign of negative, unfounded personal attacks after the bogus claims she makes in her first television advertisement were debunked by an independent review panel. Following a hearing yesterday evening, the Westchester County Fair Campaign Practices Committee ruled the advertisement an ‘unfair campaign practice.’ The ruling is below.

“The Committee basically confirmed what we’ve been saying all along – that the whole focus of Senator Oppenheimer’s campaign thus far has been based on a pack of lies,” said spokesman Josh Hills. “Her advertisements are fiction; complete with imaginary tenants and a fabricated a government agency. They even used a building that is not owned by Bob Cohen as a backdrop. Her whole campaign is based on untruths.

Developer Recommended by New Rochelle City Council to Explore Planning Models for Main Street Core

October 14, 2010 - 15:30

New Rochelle, NY— The City Manager of the City of New Rochelle has recommended Albanese Development as its preferred developer of the Main Street Core, a 4.5 acre site encompassing the Church-Division and Prospect Street parking areas, immediately south of US 1 and within walking distance of the New Rochelle Transit Center.

Albanese Development is a fully integrated real estate development and management firm based in Garden City, NY. In recommending Albanese to the City Council, New Rochelle Development Commissioner Michael Freimuth cited the firm’s “record of creating residential properties with distinction, quality, and architectural merit that optimize value and environmental responsibility, while enhancing the communities in which they are located.”

Albanese has built a total of 3 million square feet, including such notable buildings as the “Solaire” and the “Visionaire” at Battery Park City. A leader in sustainable design, Albanese developed the nation’s first LEED Gold and LEED Platinum residential towers.

In May 2009, the City completed a planning analysis for the Main Street Core redevelopment area. This analysis, which envisioned mid-scale residential and mixed-use construction, consistent with neighborhood context, served as the basis for the issuance of a Request for Qualification in April 2010.
