Westchester County Boater and Beach Advisory: LImited Sewage Spill into the Sound

The Westchester County Department of Health has notified beach and marina operators on a small stretch of Long Island Sound in New Rochelle about a limited sewage spill that was reported this morning. As a precaution, people who use the waters for recreational purposes should avoid direct contact with the water today and tomorrow at the following New Rochelle locations: Wright Island Marina, Castaways Yacht Club, Imperial Yacht Club, Neptune Boat Club, New York Athletic Club, Snug Cove and Huguenot Yacht Club, Beckwith Pointe and Glen Island Park.

"Getting Results" New Rochelle DPW Cleans Drains on Brookside Place After Recent Flooding

Last week, on the 23rd of June, Brookside Place and Halcyon Terrace suffered again from continual flooding.
I was contacted personally the evening of the 23rd by my local councilman Jared Rice. Jared expressed his concern and willingness to forward information I had provided including photos to Chuck Strome and others at City Hall.

Laundry Room Fire At 7 Windsor Oval New Rochelle

A small laundry room fire produced alot of smoke at 7 windsor oval. The call came in around 8:45am to the police department.The fire department responded with 3 engines and two ladder trucks and car 2302and 2301.The fire was quickly put out and no injuries were reported.This was the second fire call in the last three hours keeping the fire department busy.A early morning bedroom fire at 96 plain avenue was reported at 6:00am.Thanks again to the fast response from our fire department,police and ems.

Bedroom Fire injuries Two in New Rochelle

A small fire in a bedroom at 96 Plain avenue injuried two residents of the home.One woman suffered burns and her son suffered smoke inhalation.A call to 911 around 6:OOAM brought the New Rochelle police and Fire departments to the scene the fire was cotained to a bedroom of the house. Both injuried party's were taken to a bronx hospital.The fire might have started from a candle or from a incense candle.Another great job by the fire department on a fast response to the scene.
