Another Sound Shore robbery has occurred. This time in Pelham. It took place as a commuter was walking home from the train station at approximately 11:00 p.m. on Wednesday, March 28th. It is believed that this recent gunpoint robbery is connected to those that took place earlier in January and February in New Rochelle, Pelham, the Village of Mamaroneck, Town of Mamaroneck and Town of Harrison.
People in the Pelham Heights area of the Village are justifiably upset that these robberies have gone unsolved for so long. Public safety is job one for local governments. People must be able to walk on public streets without any fear. We pay huge taxes here in Pelham. These are some of the complaints of village taxpayers.

James Bonanno is one of two New Rochelle school district employees on a Methadone Maintenance Program. His primary job is to act as courier transporting supplies among school buildings in New Rochelle. As such, he is often driving a school vehicle under the influence of methadone, as well as illegal drugs like marijuana, sources say.
In the above video, Bonanno is seen driving a school district van to the Westchester County methadone clinic on Sickles Avenue in New Rochelle. After leaving the methadone clinic he drives onto North Avenue, then Lockwood and on to the buildings and grounds offices on Grove Street near Webster Avenue. Setting aside that Bonanno is doing all of this between 7:00 a.m. and 8:00 a.m. during a workday which begins at 7 a.m., should the school district allow heroin addicts enrolled in methadone maintenance programs to operate district vehicles?
There is a wide range of conflicting literature on the topic.

This will be brief! I join John D and many others in denouncing any of our representives who cast a vote for Echo Bay with the proviso that Forest City/Ratner are the developers.
As a matter of fact, I see Forest City, from a layman's point of view, as unindicted co-conspirators at Ridge Hill in Yonkers although their legal grounds were carefully raked and covered with manure as well as dirt.
Any Council Man or Woman, any of the 7, Ceremonial Mayor/Councilman at Large and 6 District Representatives would be covered with this wicked mixture as well.
The integrity of our government, our beleaguered and divided City, cannot take another blow. We have much to clean up; from basic management, financial management, responsibilities, priorities, and so much more. Ridge Hill may be successful but even if there were nothing amiss, it is substantially different than Echo Bay. Many powerful enablers, entrenched politicians, kin of famed prosecutors, ex mayors, councilmen, etc were involved to their dishonor. But, Jereis and Annabi stand alone at the end of the day.

During an exciting evening of “trick hoops” and “alley oops” spectators will get the opportunity to watch Administration, faculty and parents put their skills on the court to the test as they take on the Harlem Wizards.
Since 1962 the Harlem Wizards have been combining amazing basketball talent with hilarious comedic acts for schools, charitable organizations, and foundations across the world.

Since the beginning of this legislative term, the Democrats on the Board of Legislators (BOL) and the County Executive (CE) have been at odds over a law that was passed by the BOL last year to reform the Board of Acquisition and Contract (A&C Board). The law was vetoed by the County Executive, and his veto was then overridden by the Democrats on the BOL. The Republican legislators voted to sustain the veto believing that the law required a referendum vote by the residents of Westchester County and the mandatory referendum was not contained in the law. The CE‘s position was that the law was null and void because it was not subjected to the mandatory referendum, and he offers an opinion from the County Attorney to support this position.
It is the position of the Republican County Legislators that our County Charter dictates that any law that changes the powers of any elected official is subject to a mandatory referendum by Westchester County voters and that this A&C Board law does clearly alter the powers of the CE. Therefore, this change to our County Charter requires the approval of the voters through a referendum vote this upcoming Election Day.
