Jabari Skeene left New Rochelle in February for Camp Shelby, Mississippi to prepare to deploy to Kuwait in April. Skeene left New Rochelle a Private but has since been promoted to Private First Class. Today he sent a message for the folks back home.
"Just wanted to stop by and say hello, wish all the dad's back there a Happy Father's Day and give you an update on how I'm doing overseas," writes PFC Skeene.
"I am doing great. Our mission is pretty boring but it's still a mission and we do our job very well," he wrote.
"Hope everything's good in New Rochelle." added Skeene.
"Let the people of New Rochelle know I'm proud to serve my City, my State and my Country."
Jabari Skeene's family lives on Lincoln Avenue in New Rochelle. On December 9th, the New Rochelle Fire Department responded to a "Christmas Tree" fire at his family's house at 147 Lincoln Avenue.
The United Veterans Memorial and Patriotic Association has previously reached out to the PFC Skeene's family. If you would like to provide any support or assistance to PFC Skeene's family or the family of any other New Rochelle resident serving in the military please contact Peter Parente of the United Veterans Memorial and Patriotic Association.
