NEW ROCHELLE, NY -- Sound Shore Medical Center (SSMC) is pleased to announce that its President and CEO John R. Spicer, who is also President of the Sound Shore Health System, Inc, has been named to the Greater New York Hospital Association (GNYHA) Board of Governors. He was inducted into the Class of 2014 at GNYHA’s annual Reception and Awards Ceremony held in New York City on June 21.
Throughout his healthcare career, Mr. Spicer has partnered with community leaders and medical professionals to promote high quality healthcare services for all individuals. In 1997, he was instrumental in the creation of the Sound Shore Health System that today consists of Sound Shore Medical Center, Mount Vernon Hospital, Schaffer Extended Care Center, Hopfer School of Nursing and Visiting Nurse Association of Hudson Valley. In his new position on the GNYHA Board, Mr. Spicer hopes to continue making a positive difference in healthcare for the New York Metropolitan area and beyond.
