Recently I wrote to the City Manager about the LDC (Local Development Corporation) and their entertainment of allowing $5 million in bonding for Iona for Pryer Terrace houses. One of my concerns was that this bonding to be used for faculty residences on Pryer Terrace was not creating new jobs in the community. This is a mandate for using this bonding. New York, NY-- Montefiore Health System and Sound Shore Health System today announced that Montefiore had received approval from the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of New York (White Plains) for its affiliates to acquire the assets of Sound Shore Health System (SSHS). The transaction, which is subject to regulatory approval, is expected to close this fall.
