Mountco and Carrington Arms sale

Most residents are aware that the Moutco Construction Company rehabilitated and assumed ownership of the two Maple Avenue Senior buildings. However. they may not be aware that the Carringon Arms project off Lincoln Avenue which Mountco also wants to rehabilitate and assume ownership, includes a 32 year PILOT :(payment in lieu of taxes) which includes school children and public school costs. Details of how much money from the PILOT the public schools will receive were not explained at either the IDA (Industrial Development Agency) or City Council meetings.

As I opened my mailbox last evening I thought I was the recipient of yet another election campaign mailer. I was wrong. It was a mass mailing from Forest City Residential Group about their proposed Echo Bay Development. The address was from their offices at 1 Metrotech Center in Brooklyn. Let the self-serving promotions begin. Pretty soon we will see the full page ads in the Journal news.

Isaac Young Janitor Damages Soccer Field Chasing Geese in Pickup Truck

IEYMS Field TracksNEW ROCHELLE, NY -- A custodian at the Isaac E. Young Middle School in New Rochelle is facing disciplinary charges after driving his Toyota Tacoma pick up truck on the soccer field in front of the school to chase a large flock of geese off the field.

This incident occurred shortly after 7 a.m. this morning.

Shots Fired On Horton Avenue In New Rochelle Again

New Rochelle Police were nearby when gun shots were heard by a officer near Horton Avenue and Brook street. A New Rochelle police officer asked for more units to respond to the area of the Lvmii Bar and Lounge located at 51 Horton Avenue after numerous people started to run from the area of the club. Police could not find any people shot and were canvassing the area.
