8:20 to 8:50 pm District 11 candidates James Maisano (incumbent, R, C, I, WF) and Stavros Pantelis (D)

New York State Halloween STOP-DWI Crackdown Oct. 30 – Nov. 3

State and local law enforcement agencies will be out in force, utilizing sobriety checkpoints and saturation patrols to deter drunk driving during the week of Halloween. Motorists are reminded that driving with a blood alcohol content (BAC) of 0.08 or higher will put them over the limit ‑ if they don’t drive sober, they will get pulled over. Law enforcement agencies will also be cracking down on drivers who are impaired by drugs, both illegal and prescription.

Why Noam Bramson is Wrong for New Rochelle and Wrong for Westchester

As you probably know, I am one of the founding members of United Citizens for a Better New Rochelle--the group responsible for the thousands of "no echo bay" signs all over our city. However, I am not writing this on behalf of that group; I am writing this as a resident of New Rochelle and a fellow citizen of Westchester County. I love living in New Rochelle and am so happy to be raising my kids here. I am a Democrat and I voted for Noam Bramson in the last mayoral election.

Lawton Street Becomes Two-Way Beginning October 2

In an effort to provide better vehicular access to businesses and parking facilities in the Downtown, Lawton Street will be changed from one-way to two-way access beginning October 2. Variable Messaging Signs have been placed on Main Street near Pintard and Huguenot Street at Lawton Street to advise motorists of the conversion. The portion of Church Street between Main Street and Clinton Place will also become two-way on this date.

New Rochelle Waterfront Gateway Design Competition Enters Final Phase

NEW ROCHELLE, NY -- The innovative design competition to re-imagine New Rochelle’s Echo Bay waterfront area has entered its final phase with the selection of four semi-finalists. The architectural designs (see list below) will be on display on the first floor at City Hall beginning on October 24th and will be available for viewing through November 15th during business hours, 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM.
