Iona Gaels Begin MAAC Championship Defense Tonight in New Rochelle

NEW ROCHELLE, NY - The Iona College men’s basketball team (3-2, 0-0 MAAC) begins its MAAC title defense in its 2013-14 Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference opener at the Hynes Center. The Gaels host Marist (0-7, 0-0 MAAC), the last opponent to walk out victorious in New Rochelle. Iona will unveil its 2013 MAAC Championship and NCAA Tournament banners prior to tipoff.

TARRYTOWN, NY -- Rock guitarists Earl Slick and Gene Cornish have joined the star-studded lineup appearing at The Westchester All Stars Christmas Concert for Wounded Veterans, Friday, December 6th at 7:30 pm on the Tarrytown Music Hall stage (13 Main Street, Tarrytown, New York). The proceeds from the event will benefit two wounded veterans organizations: the Bob Woodruff Foundation and Veterans Adaptive Sports, Inc. Tax-deductible tickets cost $25, $35 and $50. Thomas H. Healey, 83, of Randolph, New Jersey, a former resident of New Rochelle, New York, where he was a parishioner at the Church of the Holy Family for 43 years, passed away unexpectedly on November 27, 2013. Mr. Healey was born in New York City on May 31, 1930.

FORT MYERS, FL - Senior Tre Bowman posted a career-high 29 points and the Iona College men's basketball team shot nearly 56 percent from the field and hit 14 three point field goals in a 90-72 win over Florida Gulf Coast University in non-conference action at Alico Arena. The Gaels snapped a seven-game losing streak in their opponent's building with the victory.
