WESTCHESTER, NY -- Westchester County Clerk Timothy C. Idoni cautions residents to beware of a new telephone scam spreading around the country that has recently emerged in upstate New York. In this scam, victims receive calls from someone impersonating law enforcement or a local county agency official warning that a warrant will go out for their arrest if they fail to make a payment by the end of the business day.
On behalf of my constituents in the 35th State Senate District, I am writing in opposition to the Joint Proposal by United Water New Rochelle and United Water Westchester to raise water rates. There are two rate increase options. One would raise water rates by as much as 14.06% in the first year. The other - the levelization option-- would raise water rates by 8.23%. Neither of these options is acceptable.
NEW ROCHELLE, NY -- The New York State Public Service Commission held a hearing in New Rochelle at City Hall on August 5th.
The hearing, largely a formality, was lightly attended.
