New Rochelle, NY -- A teacher at a high school in the South Orange/Maplewood school district was arrested Wednesday at her home and charged with multiple counts of aggravated sexual assault and endangering the welfare of a child.
UPDATE (raw notes): Sam Zherka was arraigned before Judge Lisa Margaret Smith this afternoon at the U.S. Courthouse in White Plains, NY as over two-dozen friends and family looked on. Zherka was denied bail, will be kept overnight, detention hearing tomorrow at 11 am, US Attorney says Zherka agreed to 36-46 month prison term to settle case. Zherka was arrested by U.S. Marshalls at his home this morning, FBI was on scene at Zherka's office in New Rochelle today.
