Iona MWP Stopped By No. 17 St. Francis Brooklyn

NEW ROCHELLE, NY -- The Iona College men's water polo team dropped a close 15-11 decision to No. 17 Saint Francis Brooklyn Thursday evening in CWPA Northern Division action at the Hynes Athletics Center.

Senior Jake Lloyd led the Gaels with five goals, while junior Zach Presto scored four times. Senior Ian Thompson and sophomore Chris Ellis scored the final Iona tallies.

Prior to that, Monroe got a strong turnover-free performance from sophomore quarterback Clayton Turner and a resilient defense that made the difference in getting their third road win in four games.

New Rochelle Champs Boxing Club Celebrates Its Grand Opening

NEW ROCHELLE, NY -- New Rochelle's Champs Boxing Club had its Grand Opening Event this week. Champs Boxing Club is located in New Rochelle on the second floor of 7 South Division Street. The owner of the gym is Ryan O’Leary, a long-term New Rochelle resident who also serves on the Board of Directors for USA Boxing. Champs Boxing Club have been members of the Chamber of Commerce of New Rochelle and recently relocated to their new Division Street address. Ryan founded Champs to give local youth access to a recreation facility that promotes health, discipline and good sportsmanship.

Mr. Jennings, tenor and pianist, will be joined by soprano Geraldine McMilllian.
