It has been 10 days since I made a Freedom of Information request for all records pertaining to the incident on Friday, January 30th which I will refer to as the "snowball fight video". I have made repeated requests for these records to Captain Costa, the Records Access Offier for the New Rochelle Police Department. Yesterday morning at 9 a.m.

NEW ROCHELLE, NY -- ALMS Student Jake Gallin was named New York State middle school recipient of the the Prudential Spirit of Community Award. The Prudential awards program is part of the largest youth recognition program based solely on volunteer service.

Two student medalists have been named in each state — one in high school and one in middle school — by Prudential Financial and the National Association of Secondary School Principals.

Last Second Layup Gives CNR Basketball Dramatic Senior Night Win

NEW ROCHELLE, NY -- Chelsea Thomas converted a layup with two second left to propel The College of New Rochelle to a 68-67 HVIAC victory over Yeshiva University Tuesday night at the Wellness Center.  Blue Angel seniors Jah-Leah Ellis and Alyssa Pechin were honored prior to the game.

 Trailing by one and looking for the final shot, Pechin drove the lane and found a wide open Thomas on the right side of the basket for the winning field goal.  The Maccabees inbounds pass was deflected after the basket, giving CNR (10-7, 3-1 HVIAC) the important conference win.

Monroe gets win over Orange CC

NEW ROCHELLE, NY -- On Thursday night at the Monroe Athletic Complex (MAC), the Monroe women's basketball team defeated their conference rival Orange County Community College with a 73-57 victory. Now holding an 18-7 season record, this latest win is a valuable confidence boost to the team as they advance toward the end of the regular season and head into postseason play.

BRIDGEPORT, CT— For the second straight game, the Iona College men's basketball team never trailed in a 72-57 win over Fairfield in Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference action at Webster Bank Arena. The Gaels extended their winning streak to a season-long six games with the help of 19 points apiece from junior Kelvin Amayo and freshman Schadrac Casimir.

Students Sought for United Way’s “Voices for 2-1-1” PSA Contest

WHITE PLAINS, NY -- United Ways in Westchester, Rockland and Putnam are partnering with County Executives Robert P. Astorino and MaryEllen Odell in challenging area high school students to participate in the second annual "Voices for 2-1-1" public service announcement (PSA) contest. The contest begins this Wednesday, Feb. 11 – National 2-1-1 Day. The competition aims to increase awareness of United Way's 2-1-1 helpline, while offering teenagers the opportunity to further develop their skills and to learn about careers in communications and media.
