PELHAM, NY -- On Thursday, April 2nd at 7:30 p.m. The Picture House will present a special advance screening of the film 5 to 7 (R; 95 mins.) ahead of its nationwide debut on April 23rd. After the screening, TPH Critic-in-Residence Marshall Fine will host a post-film discussion and Q&A with the film’s director Victor Levin.

NEW ROCHELLE, NY -- Legislator Sheila Marcotte (R) Eastchester, New Rochelle, Tuckahoe, has proposed a plan to allow Westchester residents to more easily access two county databases that monitor home improvement contractors.  The proposal would allow consumers the ability to easily check both a contractor’s licensing status as well as if the contractor has any liens and or judgements against them, all on one webpage.

NEW ROCHELLE, NY -- The New Rochelle Public Library will host an American Red Cross Blood Drive on Friday, April 10th, from 2:00 – 7:00 pm, in the library’s meeting room and theater stage. 

The American Red Cross Blood Services depends on committed donors to give the “gift of life” to help ensure that quality blood products and services are always available when and where they are needed by hospital patients. One unit of blood can help save the lives of up to three people.

PELHAM, NY -- The Picture House in Pelham has announced that it will be offering an ‘Animation Vacation’ spring break camp from March 30th through April 2nd. All classes will take place at The Picture House’s historic 1921 theater and the new Satellite Film Lab.

Each day your child will work with a film industry professional and learn the different aspects of animation, from stop-motion, to claymation, to lego animation. They will create short animated films and two weeks later you will receive a link to their final product.

NEW ROCHELLE, NY -- The 35th annual Dermot Gale Award Show, sponsored by the New Rochelle Art Association, will be featured in the Lumen Winter Gallery of the New Rochelle Public Library from March 30th to April 26th, during regular library hours. The show is open to all exhibiting members of the Association, with a cash prize in Dermot Gale’s name to be awarded for best two-dimensional work in the show. A prize will also be awarded for best in show. Ribbons will be awarded for outstanding entries in all media.

Library Presents Chamber Music Performed By Students from Aaron Copland School of Music

NEW ROCHELLE, NY -- A captivating and pleasing concert of classical chamber music will be performed in the Ossie Davis Theater of the New Rochelle Public Library on Sunday, March 29, from 3:00 pm – 4:00 pm. The program will include works by Georg Philipp Telemann, Johannes Brahms, Clara Shumann, and Albert Franz Doppler.

The performing musicians, all students of the Aaron Copland School of Music, CUNY, are Peter Delgrosso (French horn), Simona Donova (flute), Edward Hardy (violin), Markus Kaitila (piano), Morgan Pappas (flute), Tony Park (clarinet), and Qian Shen (piano).

Manhattan U.S. Attorney Announces Charges Against Bronx Man For Aiming A Laser Beam At Aircraft

NEW YORK, NY -- Elehecer Balaguer was arrested today by the Federal Bureau of Investigation for aiming the beam of a laser pointer at aircraft in the vicinity of LaGuardia Airport. Balaguer surrendered to the FBI this morning, and appeared before U.S. Magistrate Judge Debra C. Freeman in Manhattan federal court earlier today.
