Japanese Cherry Blossom Festival at Pelham Art Center

PELHAM, NY -- The Pelham Art Center will host a Japanese Cherry Blossom Festival as part of it’s Folk Arts Series. The event includes Ikebana (flower arranging) and Weaving Workshops plus a Traditional Japanese Tea Ceremony. The event is free and open to the public. 

Artist Shoko Iwata will lead two workshops in traditional Japanese floral art from the Sogetsu School of Ikebana at 1:30 p.m. and 2:30 p.m.

Andreana Pizzuti, Former Barnard Teacher, to be Honored at Memorial Unveiling

NEW ROCHELLE, NY -- Barnard Childhood Center in New Rochelle will hold a Dedication Ceremony to honor a former Pre-K Teacher at the school. The event is scheduled for Wednesday, April 22nd at 4 p.m.

Andreana Pizzuti worked at Barnard for 19 years. She passed away on June 1, 2013.

Colleagues, friends and former students raised funds for the memorial, a walkway planted with Golden Euonymus bushes and a daffodil flowerbed.

A plaque, with a mosaic created by a local artist, will be unveiled at the ceremony, renaming the walkway "Pizzuti Way”.

Hisiger Film Foundation, The Picture House Regional Film Center and Westchester County are presenting the 2015 Future Filmmaker’s Film Festival on Sunday, April 26th from 2:30 to 5:30 p.m. at The Picture House in Pelham. Drawing students from across the County, the Future Filmmaker’s Festival spotlights short films from narrative, documentary, comedy, drama, and musical categories, wholly created and produced by Westchester County high school students.
