City School District Of New Rochelle Holds First-ever "Arts Out Loud" Program For 7th and 8th Grade Students

NEW ROCHELLE, NY -- The City School District of New Rochelle will launch its inaugural Arts Out Loud showcase Thursday on April 30 at 6:30 p.m.

The event is free and open to the public.

The celebration marks the expansion of the district's successful elementary level Poetry Out Loud program to its middle school community.

New York State Department of Motor Vehicles Yonkers Office Closing for Renovations

ALBANY, NY -- The New York State Department of Motor Vehicles office in Yonkers will be closed for renovations starting Thursday, April 30. The office is expected to reopen in early June.

The DMV Office at 1 Larkin Plaza in Yonkers, NY will be closed. During the renovation of the Yonkers office, customers can visit nearby DMV offices to complete a transaction. To find the nearest office, visit http://dmv.ny.gov/offices. Customers can also complete more than 35 transactions online at http://dmv.ny.gov/.

NEW ROCHELLE, NY – The 2014-15 All-Met Division III Women’s college basketball teams were announced Tuesday by the Met Basketball Writers Association (MBWA), and The College of New Rochelle senior forward Jah-Leah Ellis (Harlem, NY/Hun School of Princeton) has been selected to the Third Team.  Ellis is the first Blue Angel to ever be selected to this prestigious regional all-star team.

NEW ROCHELLE, NY -- The presents included a third camera and tripod, along with a teleprompter. Additional monitors for green-screen work and the inclusion of a third anchor, as well as an iMac, are on their way to complete the ensemble.

Street of Dreams was instrumental in the original establishment of the Gael Force studio. After several years as a post-production operation, GFL transitioned into a live broadcast studio this year with the help of Nicholas Franco '13 and under the leadership of Executive Producer Michael Lyons '15.

NEW YORK, NY – Iona College Goal Club Hall of Fame and Board of Trustees member Linda Bruno is one of two honorees to be presented with Distinguished Service Awards by the Metropolitan Basketball Writers Association at the 82nd All-Met Haggerty Awards Dinner Wednesday (Apr. 22) at the Westchester Marriott in Tarrytown, NY. Former Yeshiva coach Jon Halpert will also receive the distinction.

The Haggerty Awards Dinner is the longest running media-managed college basketball awards program in the United States.

Iona Golf Takes Sixth At Finegan Invitational

ELVERSON, PA - The Iona College golf team tied for sixth at the Finegan Invitational at Stonewall North Monday afternoon. The Gaels carded a day two score of 292, and finished the tournament with score of 596 (+36).

"We put together a solid team round today in some pretty good scoring conditions," said head coach Chris Merce. "Overall, we still need to play more consistently as Sunday's first round put us too far off the lead going in to today."
