NEW ROCHELLE, NY - The Iona College baseball team dropped two tough contests a doubleheader vs. Saint Peter's conference doubleheader at City Park. The Gaels fell short 7-5 in the opener and 2-0 in the night cap.

The Peacocks had an answer for Iona each time they scored in the opener. Iona led 1-0 on a sacrifice fly by junior C Carmine Palummo in the opening inning only to see Saint Peter's knot the score with a run in the next frame.

POUGHKEEPSIE, NY - The Iona College softball team moved to 7-5 in Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference action with a two game sweep of Marist Saturday afternoon at Gartland Field. In the opener, the Gaels picked up a 3-0 win before claiming game two 6-0.

In the opener, redshirt sophomore Christine Costello pitched a complete game shutout to go along with two hits, an RBI and a run scored. Freshman Courtney Miller drove in two runs courtesy of a second inning home run.

NEW ROCHELLE, NY -- The New Rochelle Police Benevolent Association with hold a fundraiser at AJ’s Burgers at 542 North Avenue, across from New Rochelle City Hall on Thursday April 23rd from 7 p.m. to 11 p.m.

Billed as a Reunion of Tammany Hall and O’Briens, the event will feauture food from AJ’s and draft beer and sangria.

The event costs $45 with proceeds going to support the New Rochelle PBA.

JOHNSTOWN, PA - The Iona College golf team took sixth place at the Saint Francis University Red Flash Spring Golf Invitational at Sunnehanna Country Club.

The Gaels recorded the second lowest team score of the day, 299, and finished with a three round score of 894 (+54), 21 shots shy of first place Robert Morris.

“We played a very solid round today in some pretty tough conditions," said head coach Chris Merce. "Although we weren’t able to move up in the standings, posting the second best round of the day should provide us with some confidence.”

Fordham Tops Iona Baseball On The Road

NEW ROCHELLE, NY - The Iona College baseball team dropped a non-conference tune-up to Fordham 11-3 at Houlihan Park.

Junior SS Vinny DeMaria led the way with two of Iona's seven hits including a double in the eighth inning. Junior C Carmine Palummo and sophomore 2B Tyler Bruno both doubled and scored for the Maroon & Gold. Junior DH Zach Brown and freshmen CF Jon Budesa and 1B Matt Flannery drove in the Gaels' runs.

Five pitchers combined for the Gaels in the effort. Junior LHP John Nargoski took the loss, pitching the first 2.1 innings of the contest.

Coughlin was selected to represent the Connecticut region at the 2015 Brine National Lacrosse Classic to be held at the River City Sportsplex in Virginia, June 29-July 2, 2015.

RIVERDALE, NY- The Iona College women's lacrosse team defeated Manhattan 11-9 in Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference play Wednesday afternoon. With the victory, the Gaels move to 6-9, and 2-5 in conference play in the 2015 campaign.

Freshman Jenna Tolzmann led the Maroon & Gold with four goals, marking her fourth game in a row tallying a goal. sophomore Erin Pugh, senior Meghan Testoni, and junior Anna Kelly each added two goals a piece, with junior Mary Kate McCormick responsible for the final Gael goal.
