Astorino Seeks Entrepreneurs to Revitalize Saw Mill River Parkway’s Old Cantina Restaurant

WHITE PLAINS, NY - Westchester County Executive Robert P. Astorino is looking for entrepreneurs with ideas to revitalize the site of the old Cantina Restaurant. The county is hoping to bring new life to this local landmark along the Saw Mill River Parkway by offering a license agreementto a qualified companyfor a restaurant or other revenue-generating operations, such as a catering hall, recreational facility or museum. Responses to a Request for Proposals (RFP)are due July 24.

Con Edison Emissions Down More Than 45 Percent in Nine Years

WHITE PLAINS, NY -- Con Edison Inc. (Con Edison) announced today that its greenhouse gas emissions have been reduced more than 45 percent in the nine years between 2005 and the end of 2014. That reduction is the equivalent to taking more than a half million passenger vehicles off the road. That reduction also includes a seven percent reduction in 2014 alone.

WHITE PLAINS, NY - With a Resolution in the State Senate, Senator Andrea Stewart-Cousins, the Senate Democratic Leader, recognized 13 year old Jake Gallin of New Rochelle for being named as one of America’s top 10 youth volunteers by the Prudential Spirit of Community Awards* for his volunteer work on behalf of military families. Jake was nominated by Volunteer New York and selected by the Prudential Foundation as a National Honoree from a field of more than 33,000 youth volunteers from across the country.

NEW ROCHELLE, NY -- The New Rochelle Lighted Boat Parade will take place on Saturday, July 25, 2015.

Lighted boats from all marinas will parade through New Rochelle Harbor, onto Long Island Sound between Hudson Park and Neptune Park between the hours of 8:30 p.m. and 9:30 p.m.

Boats will be lit with holiday lights and decorations for this festive annual tradition.
