NEW ROCHELLE, NY --Tomorrow on August 13th at 5:30 PM Bob Marrone of The New Rochelle Chamber of Commerce and Mayor Noam Bramson will be cutting the Red Ribbon for the Grand Opening of The Marina Grille, located at 790 Drake Avenue in New Rochelle.  Reopened in July under new management, the restaurant has quickly become a highlight in the Westchester restaurant scene.

WHITE PLAINS, NY --The Algonquin Gas Transmission System is an existing interstate natural gas pipeline, owned and operated by Spectra Energy, running through New York, Connecticut, Rhode Island, and Massachusetts. In Westchester County, Spectra has held a permanent easement for their pipeline in Blue Mountain Reservation (a county-owned park) since 1952.

WHITE PLAINS, NY --Visitor spending in Westchester hit a record $1.74 billion in 2014 and is on pace to top that number in 2015, Westchester County Executive Robert P. Astorino announced today. Since 2010, tourism has added $8.3 billion to the county’s economy.

“These numbers show the growing popularity of Westchester as the ‘Meet Me’ destination in the Hudson Valley,” Astorino said. “Whether for business or pleasure, Westchester is attracting more and more visitors and that’s great news for our economy.”

WHITE PLAINS, NY --County Executive Robert P. Astorino today announced that Westchester County is once again teaming up with The Sharing Shelf of Family Services of Westchester and other nonprofit agencies and businesses to collect and distribute school supplies for children in need.

“Since launching our backpack partnership, we have helped give vital school supplies to thousands of children in Westchester County,” said Astorino. “As always, our goal is to help as many children as we can again this year.”

NEW ROCHELLE, NY --Rethink the way a book appears – not the words, but the form itself – and you may get a sense of the unusual artworks that will be on display at The College of New Rochelle’s Castle Gallery this fall.

Pieces inspired by books, from The Center for Book Arts in Manhattan, will be displayed this autumn, starting Tuesday, September 8, in the Gallery at 29 Castle Place.

Called “Then and Now: Ten Years of Residences at the Center for Book Arts,” the exhibit will feature more than 120 biblio-inspired works from 60 artists.

New Rochelle Cares is currently enlisting the help of New Rochelle neighbors to find a photo to use on their introductory campaign posters. The contest offers a $100 prize for the photograph that best depicts their mission or an iconic photo of New Rochelle.
