WHITE PLAINS, NY --Motorists are advised that portions of the northbound Bronx River Parkway will be closed between the Sprain Brook Parkway and the Westchester County Center starting on Monday, August 17 and continuing daily throughFriday, August 21 from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

Northbound closures from Monday, August 17 toFriday, August 21from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. daily: 

- There will be no access from the six lane portion of the northbound Bronx River Parkway to the four lane portion of the northbound Bronx River Parkway at the Sprain Brook Parkway.

NEW ROCHELLE, NY -- Participants in Family Services of Westchester’s Big Brothers Big Sisters Program, an affiliate of Big Brothers Big Sisters of America, will gather at the Glen Island Pier in New Rochelle to board the Klondike IX fishing boat for a day of fishing and fun on the Long Island Sound.  This annual event, now in its sixth year, is made possible thanks to the father and son team of Stephen and Todd Schwartz who each year raise funds to support this special outing.

NEW ROCHELLE, NY --The New Rochelle Art Association (NRAA) is celebrating the 100th Annual Open Juried Art Show, which runs from September 19 to October 25, 2015. The opening reception will be held September 27, 2015, from 5:15-6:30 pm at the New Rochelle Public Library, to coincide with Arts Fest. The organization, one of the oldest in the country, holds its annual show highlighting the best artwork from its members as well as outside artists.

Legislators Approve Funding to Help Law Enforcement Fight Elder Abuse

WHITE PLAINS, NY --The Westchester County Board of Legislators (BOL) and County Executive Rob Astorino have teamed up to deliver funding that would provide enhanced training to municipal law enforcement agencies to help them address elder abuse, neglect and exploitation including sexual assault, domestic violence, dating violence or stalking, involving victims who are 50 years of age or older.  According to AARP, there are 108.7 million Americans in that age group.
