NEW YORK, NY --The Iona College women's cross country team finished third overall at the 2015 Marist Season Opener at Vassar Farms. Sophomore Rachel Garn was the Gaels top performer in fifth place.

Garn finished the 4,000-meter event with a time of 18:52.2.Sophomores Danika Jensen (19:53.2) and Kara McKenna (19:55.6) finished back-to-back in 16th and 17th place. Freshmen Jillian Baldassarre (21:04.1) and Shea Foley (21:44.7) were the Gaels fourth and fifth scorers in the event.

MWP Drops Opening Two Games At Navy Open

NEW YORK, NY -- Even with a hopeful opening half, the Iona men’s water polo team fell to John Hopkins University 20-9 in the first of four matches this weekend at the 2015 Navy Open hosted by the United States Naval Academy.

Senior Rafael Romero, and junior Chris Ellis led Iona with two goals, while junior Matt Rothman, junior Hudson Grieve, junior Pat Dougherty, freshman Bailey Lyons and freshman Alex Guerra added one apiece. In goal, senior Matt McCrudden and junior Anthony Zdanavicius each had two saves.

Women's Volleyball Sweeps Home Opener

NEW ROCHELLE, NY --The College of New Rochelle Women's Volleyball team improved to 3-0 on the young season with a sweep of York College and King's College (NY) in its home opener Saturday afternoon.  The Blue Angels didn't drop a set all day, as they defeated York 25-7, 25-6, and 25-16 and then trumped King's 25-7, 26-24, and 25-10.

Temporary Parking Changes to Accomodate Relocated Webster School

NEW ROCHELLE, NY -- To safely accommodate staff and students of Daniel Webster Elementary School, which has temporarily relocated to Holy Family School until the end of the year, the City has authorized the following changes to parking in that area:

•Mayflower Avenue between Clove Road and Webster Avenue will be designated for staff parking only on weekdays between 7 AM to 4 PM

•Clove Road and Mount Joy from Mayflower to the end of the school property will be used for pickup and drop off zones 8-9 AM and 2:30-3:30 PM

NEW ROCHELLE, NY -- Ernie Geronimo formerly of New Rochelle died peacefully in his home in Spring Hill, FL Sept 2, 2015 surrounded by his loving family. He was born August 19, 1930 to Jack and Madeline Geronimo. He lived and worked in New Rochelle for Terrytoons and then for the City of New Rochelle until his retirement in 1992.

He is survived by his wife Fran (née Heidig), sons Bob (Lynne), Paul, daughters Diane (Frank) Calvin, Mary Ellen Iarocci, Cathy (Paul) McLaughlin, nine granddaughters and two great-grandchildren.
