09/11 Westchester to Honor Those who died Sept. 11, 2001 with Twilight Ceremony 7 PM

WHITE PLAINS, NY -- County Executive Robert P. Astorino invites the public to attend Westchester County’s 9/11 Memorial Ceremony in order to honor those whose lives were lost or forever changed by the tragic events of Sept. 11, 2001. The event will begin at 7 p.m. Friday, September 11 at “The Rising” at the Kensico Dam in Valhalla.

“Each year we come together as one community to remember the 111 Westchester residents and 12 former residents who lost their lives that tragic day,” Astorino said. “To some extent, time heals. But we can never forget.”

Capitol One Caper: New Rochelle police responded to the report of a fraud on Gail Drive in New Rochelle on August 11th.

The complainant walked into police headquarters and stated he had noticed his credit score dropped significantly. He had his daughter call a credit agency and they told her he had a debt of $30,000 to a Capital One credit card. He contacted the bank and they canceled the account. He stated that Capital One said they are forwarding the bill to an address he does not recognize.

Young Man, Said to be Autistic, Critically Injured After Struck by SUV

NEW ROCHELLE, NY -- A New Rochelle man was severely injured after he was struck by an SUV in front of 127 Cooper Drive. The driver remained on the scene. The collision is under investigation.

The man was initially taken to Montefiore New Rochelle Hospital then transferred to Westchester Medical Center.

The injured man, 20, is reportedly autistic, according to New Rochelle police.

The incident occurred before 11:00 a.m.

Man Bitten in Roadhouse Ruckus: New Rochelle police responded to a report of an Assault at the Texas roadhouse on August 12th at about 6:30 p.m..

Complainant stated that a man attacked him as he entered the restaurant without provocation. He stated that he believes he knows the person's name but is unsure because he's never met him before. He stated that the person jumped on his back and bit him on the back of his right shoulder.

Connecticut Man Slowly Drives Away from Police After Traffic Stop, Busted for DWI

NEW ROCHELLE, NY -- New Rochelle police arrested a Norwalk man for drunk driving on August 14, 2015 at about 4:30 a.m.. The arrest occurred at the intersection of Division Street and Main Street in downtown New Rochelle.
