NEW ROCHELLE, NY -- New Rochelle police arrested Stephen Slobodow, 52, of New Rochelle at 25 Lispenard Avenue in New Rochelle on August 12th at about 11:45 p.m..

Slobodow was charged with Petty Larceny, a Class A Misdemeanor ,and Criminal Possession of Stolen Property Fifth, a class A Misdemeanor.

City of New Rochelle Releases Plans to Deal with Parking & Traffic Issues at Holy Family-Webster

Talk of the Sound has obtained a copy of the details of the City of New Rochelle plan to address traffic and parking issues related to the emergency relocation of Webster School to the Holy Family School on Mount Joy Place.

Robo-calls will be going out later today and again on Tuesday from both the School District and the City. A joint press release will be issued later today.

Men’s Soccer Opens 2015 Season with a Win and a Draw

NEW YORK, NY --The Monroe College men's soccer team opened its 2015 campaign in Baltimore, Maryland and came away with a win and a draw.  The Mustangs defeated the hosts, Louisburg, 2-0, and earned a 2-2 tie with Eastern Florida.  The team opens its home schedule on Saturday, September 5.

NEW ROCHELLE, NY -- Police Officer Erick Aguilar and Detective Lillian Sanchez of the New Rochelle Police Department joined with  local school children to help AAA Northeast  launch its 70th annual “School’s Open – Drive Carefully” campaign at the New Rochelle Police Department.  

Colorful “School’s Open” posters will be mounted in New Rochelle to warn motorists to be extra careful as thousands of local youngsters return to school.

Police Officer Erick Aguilar and Detective Lillian Sanchez helped to launch AAA’s “School’s Open – Drive Carefully” campaign at Police Headquarters in New Rochelle with local school children, (left to right) Armando Sanchez, Megan O’Rourke and Natalia Sanchez.  Donna Galasso, Assistant Director, Traffic Safety represented AAA at the ceremony.
