NEW ROCHELLE, NY -- The 3 New Rochelle Firefighters on Engine 24 Wednesday - Lieutenant Anthony Margiotti, and Firefighters Jared McLean and Danny Thompson - arrived to find that the mother's water had just broken. With the ambulance delayed, they rolled up their sleeves and coached her through labor. After cutting the cord and swaddling the beautiful baby girl, they placed the little bundle in her mother's arms. We're proud of you, brothers!

NEW ROCHELLE, NY -- Westchester Yoga Arts, in conjunction with theNew Rochelle ArtsFest, New Rochelle BID and the New RochelleDepartment of Parks and Recreation, will celebrate National Yoga Month with “Yoga on the Green”at Ruby Dee Park at Library Green(1 Library Green, between Huguenot &Lawton, New Rochelle), on Saturday, September 26th.Hundreds of participants will gather to practice for a good cause.

All proceeds from the $10 donation class will go to the creation of a yoga and wellness program at the Boys & Girls Club of New Rochelle.

NEW ROCHELLE, NY -- The College of New Rochelle Women's Volleyball team climbed back above the .500 mark on the season as they held off a late rally by visiting Farmingdale State College in non-conference action Thursday night.  With the 3-1 victory the Blue Angels improve to 5-4 overall, while Farmingdale falls to 2-3.

Despite going up 2-0, the Blue Angels had their hands full with a Rams team that traded points for much of the first frame before losing 25-22.  CNR appeared to gain momentum and confidence in the 2nd, as they cruised to a 25-14 win.

NEW ROCHELLE, NY --Work is underway for drainage improvements in Halcyon Park- an area plagued by chronic flooding especially during moderate and heavy rain - thanks to a combination of state and federal funding, including a FEMA Region II Grant of $1.7 million. State and local officials held a media event on Friday, September 18 to detail the project.

NEW ROCHELLE, NY -- The Iona College women's soccer team dropped a heartbreaker in overtime at Sacred Heart in non-conference action at Campus Field. After the Pioneers knotted the game at 2-2 less than four minutes left in regulation, the home team scored with 18 seconds to play in the first overtime to earn the win.

After nearly 75 minutes of scoreless play, the final 16 minutes saw four goals before the overtime period. Sacred Heart's Dana Cosmedy broke the scoreless tie in the 75th minute as she headed in a corner kick from teammate Elisa Robiglio for the game's first goal.

NEW ROCHELLE, NY -- The Iona College volleyball team travelled to the home of the defending MAAC champions Saturday afternoon. The Siena Saints got the better of the Gaels, sweeping the contest, 22-25, 11-25, 15-25.

The Gaels knotted the score with the Saints twice in the first set, including in the closing moments at 22. The second set was highlighted by a 10-3 run for Siena, where they opened up an 18-8 lead on way to their most decisive set victory.
