NEW ROCHELLE, NY -- The Monroe College volleyball team made it a perfect 4-0 at the Monroe College Invitational with a pair of victories over FIT and Nassau Community College on Sunday.  The team has remained perfect at 25-0 and has dropped just three sets all season.  The scores of game one were 25-14, 25-17 and 25-14.  The second game went 25-5, 25-16 and  25-22.

NEW ROCHELLE, NY --The College of New Rochelle Womens Volleyball team won its 8th straight contest Tuesday night in a non-conference tilt against Skyline Conference member Purchase College.  The Blue Angels swept the Panthers by scores of 25-14, 25-12, and 25-10 to improve to 11-4 overall.  CNR remains perfect at home at 9-0.

NEW ROCHELLE, NY -- The Monroe College women's soccer team won its fifth-straight game and improved to 5-1 on the season with a 3-0 shutout of archrival, ASA, on Tuesday night in New Rochelle.  The team has outscored its opponents, 25-0, in its last three contests and has recorded three straight shutouts.

NEW ROCHELLE, NY -- New Rochelle police arrested Gerard Henderson on charges of driving while intoxicated shortly before noon on September 17 on North Avenue in New Rochelle.

Police observed a vehicle driving by Henderson making an illegal U-turn across the double yellow line and began traveling northbound on North Avenue. There is a no U-turn sign clearly visible at incident location.

NEW ROCHELLE, NY -- Elisabetta M. Cirillo, a longtime resident of New Rochelle, died on September 23, 2015.

Elisabetta was born in Fabrizia, Italy to the late Giuseppe and Maria Stella (Cutri) DeMasi.

She was predeceased by her husband Agostino Orlando Cirillo.

She is survived by her children: Joseph (Tina) Cirillo, Frank (Teresina) Cirillo and Rita Cirillo; her grandchildren: Anthony, Maria Lisa, Tania and Sonia; her great-grandchildren Anthony and Daniella and her sister Giuseppina.
