NEW ROCHELLE, NY -- The New Rochelle Library Board is confronted with a dilemma. One of their hardest working members may not be eligible to be on the board.
WHITE PLAINS, NY -- County Executive Robert P. Astorino today announced that nine Westchester students – from Byram Hills, Irvington, Mamaroneck, Rye and Yonkers high schools – have been selected as recipients of the Westchester County Youth Board’s 2015 Milly Kibrick Youth Service Awards for their outstanding service to their local communities.
The awards will be presented at a dinner beginning at 6 p.m., October 21 at the Davenport Club, 400 Davenport Avenue, New Rochelle. The winners, by hometown, are:

NEW ROCHELLE, NY --The New Rochelle Board of Education Meeting will meet Tuesday October 6th to discuss an in-depth report prepared by the firm WXY, which details demographic projections for enrollment in our schools. The Board will also consider a proposed bond for capital projects throughout the district and policies regarding health examinations and interscholastic athletics.
The meeting will take place at 7 p.m. in the Linda Kelly Theater, House IV, at New Rochelle High School.
NEW ROCHELLE, NY -- New Rochelle resident Venessa Muoio will join more than 8,000 tri-state area residents as she honors her father by participating in The Lustgarten Foundation’s 15th annual Long Island Pancreatic Cancer Research Walk. The walk will be held on Sunday, October 11, at Jones Beach.
The Lustgarten Foundation is the nation’s largest private funder of pancreatic cancer research. Due to Cablevision’s support of The Lustgarten Foundation, 100 percent of every dollar that Venessa and her fellow walkers raise will go directly to pancreatic cancer research.
NEW ROCHELLE, NY -- The Monroe College volleyball team improved to 27-0 with a pair of 3-0 wins over Hagerstown and Harford over the weekend. The scores against Hagerstown were 25-21, 25-22 and 25-23. They defeated Harford 25-13, 25-17 and 25-15.
In the win over Hagerstown, Cristen Coryatt had a match-best 14 kills. Barbara Maximiano chipped in with 10. Indira Rojas had 29 assists and Ashley Ramos fell just short of a double-double, totaling nine kills and ten digs. Against the Fighting Owls, it was Maximiano who led the way with ten kills and seven digs.
