NEW ROCHELLE, NY -- Clement V. Scaglione, Sr. of New Rochelle, passed away on October 4, 2015, surrounded by his loving family. He was 74. Born in the Bronx on January 26, 1941 to John & Rosa (Benedetto) Scaglione. Clem was the proprietor of several liquor stores in the Bronx and later worked as a supervisor for the U.S. Postal Service. Beloved husband of Mary Ann (nee Buonaiuto), loving father of John (wife Kathleen), Anthony (wife Audrey) and Clement, Jr. (wife Tisha), cherished grandfather of Nicholas, Michael, Luke and Jason and dear brother-in-law of Don Buonaiuto.

NEW YORK, NY -- Dr. Anita Plutchik passed away early Sunday morning, October 4 in Sarasota, Florida. She was 81. Born in Manhattan, New York, she received a B.S. from Syracuse University and an M.A. from Hofstra University. She later earned a Ph.D. in psychology. In 1962, she married Dr. Robert Plutchik, who predeceased her in 2006. They lived in New Rochelle, NY for over 25 years, before moving to Sarasota. Anita was involved in various organizations including Hadassah and Mensa. She had a life-long passion for learning and taking care of others.

Westchester County has learned of its first human case of West Nile Virus this year, which was confirmed today in a 72-year-old Yonkers resident who had been hospitalized, and is now recovering at home.

The Westchester County Department of Health searched for signs of mosquito breeding activity around the resident’s home and found no visible mosquito breeding areas or conditions that would support mosquito activity.
