NEW ROCHELLE, NY -- In an exclusive interview with Jeffrey T. White, the Assistant Superintendent for Business and Administration told Talk of the Sound that barring any unforeseen events, he hopes to have completed a complete roll out of the Timepiece system, a high-tech version of a punch clock, by the end of the current school year. The system will be used to track hours for every employee except 12-month, salaried administrators and integrate that data into the payroll module of the district's Finance Manager software.

White, the recently-hired New Rochelle Assistant Superintendent for Business and Administration told Talk of the Sound the District will need to borrow $50 million to repair long-neglected schools throughout the District. The news comes weeks after a ceiling-collapse at the Daniel Webster Elementary School, led to the closing of the school and relocation to the Holy Family School.

NEW ROCHELLE, NY -- Iona College students, faculty and staff are participating in a variety of activities in celebration of Pope Francis’ historic visit to New York this week.  Approximately 40 members of the campus community will be attending the Papal Mass on Friday, September 25, at Madison Square Garden. Over 400 campus community members were engaged in multiple community service activities on Saturday, September 19 in celebration of Iona’s 75th Anniversary and International Day of Service.

NEW ROCHELLE, NY -- Iona Preparatory School K-12 dedicated its athletic field on Saturday to a steadfast supporter who, during the course of his tenure as co-owner of the New York Giants, was one of the most influential figures in the history of the National Football League.

In renaming Iona Prep’s football field after Wellington T. Mara before a crowd of hundreds of friends, family, alumni and students, Iona Prep President Brother Thomas Leto cited Mr. Mara’s legacy on-and-off the field and praised his generosity and commitment to the Iona community.

NEW ROCHELLE, NY -- The College of New Rochelle (CNR) co-sponsored the New York Archdiocese’s 7th Annual Summer Seminars for High School Educators at Cathedral High School in Manhattan, during which twelve educators from CNR led workshops.  The event, created to provide professional development support to Catholic educators, was attended by more than 550 teachers and administrators from 35 high schools across the Archdiocese.

NEW YORK, NY -- Attorney General Eric T. Schneiderman today announced the conviction of Basel Ramadan, the ring leader of a criminal enterprise that flooded New York City, Albany County and Schenectady County with more than a million cartons of untaxed cigarettes illegally imported from Virginia. Basel Ramadan, 44 of Maryland, was found guilty on 198 counts, including Enterprise Corruption, Money Laundering, and numerous tax crimes by Brooklyn Supreme Court Justice Dineen A. Riveiezzo.
