NEW ROCHELLE, NY -- The Gaels trailed by a goal against Saint Peter’s heading into halftime, but with two goals in a span of 79 seconds, Iona flipped the script and secured their fourth straight MAAC win.  Freshmen Daniel Huertas and Killian Colombie gave the Maroon & Gold the pair of goals needed to get past the Peacocks and improve their conference record to 5-3-0.

Iona outshot Saint Peter’s four to two in the first half, however they entered the locker room at the break trailing due to a nicely placed header put home by junior defenseman Jack Fisher.

From the kickoff, the Saints applied the pressure on the Iona defense, maintaining a dominant amount of possession and attacking zone time.  In the first half, the Maroon & Gold were outshot 10-2, and senior goalkeeper Taylor Rice made five saves to keep the score knotted at zero heading into the break.

OPEN LETTER TO CITY COUNCIL: The Production Value of Your Meetings is Awful

NEW ROCHELLE, NY -- The City of New Rochelle spent a good deal of money for a design firm in Nashville to come up with a new branding image for New Rochelle.

With the branding project complete, I am again raising an issue I have raised many time before. The set up for City Council Meetings, especially for media coverage is absolutely awful. Everyone in City Hall knows this. No one disputes it. And yet it never changes. With budget season soon upon us, the time has come for this to change both in the City Council Chambers and the City Council conference room next door.

How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love the Parkmobile App

NEW ROCHELLE, NY -- I have to admit that I did not like the new parking system rolled out a few months ago. It was confusing and the machines downright intimidating. Even after I figured it out there was the issue of people ahead of me trying to figure out the darn machines. The worst was a couple of days ago when it was raining hard and a woman stood under umbrella for what seemed like ten minutes fiddling with the parking machine at City Hall. I did not have an umbrella and got soaked.

Cool New Feature of Talk of the Sound -- Share Your Top Rated Stories with Fellow Readers

Earlier this year we launched a new version of Talk of the Sound with a new theme, new features and a mobile-optimized version for the majority of readers who prefer to read Talk of the Sound on their iPhone or Android rather than a desktop or laptop computer. There were a few kinks that had to be worked out. I am happy to report that these kinks are now being smoothed out.

One of my favorite new features is the ability of readers to rate content -- to tell other readers what they think they are the best stories on the site.
