NEW ROCHELLE, NY -- Dorett G. Roberts (nee Smith) of New Rochelle passed away peacefully on Oct. 11th, 2015. Born in Golden Spring, St. Ann, Jamaica. Married forty-four years to Bishop James P. Roberts, Jr. Mother of sons Dwayne & Jason. Grandmother of Anaya. Mother-in-law of Brenda. Visitation (4-7 PM), Funeral Service (7 PM) at St. Thomas L.C. Church, 147 West 144 Street, Manhattan, NYC 10030 on Friday, Oct. 23, 2015. Interment at Calverton National Cemetery. Donations may be made, in her name, to the church's Building Repair Fund.

NEW ROCHELLE, NY -- Marie G. Cerreta of New Rochelle, NY died October 18th, 2015. She was 105. She was preceded in death by her husband Emidio and daughter-in-law Elizabeth. She is survived by her children: Peter, Joseph and his wife Patricia, and Diane and her husband John Moore. Marie is also survived by her ten grandchildren: Barbara McCormick, William Cerreta, James Cerreta, Ellen Cerreta, Cornelius Moore, Jane Fitzgerald, Matthew Moore, Kyla Moore, Peter Cerreta and Marin Moore, as well as ten, great-grand children. Visitation will be held Thurday 2-4 & 7-9pm.

NEW ROCHELLE, NY -- Marie Perrotti, a longtime resident of New Rochelle, died after a long and courageous battle with cancer on October 19, 2015. She was 86.

Marie was born on June 2, 1929 in Mt. Vernon to the late Michael and Louise Lorusso.

She is survived by her husband of 60 years, Thomas J. Perrotti; her loving children, Loretta Daniele (Bruce), Ginny Priaulx (Robert) and TJ Perrotti; her dear grandchildren, Mark (Taryn) Priaulx, Margo Priaulx, Jillian Priaulx, Nicholas Perrotti and Giovanni Perrotti; and her sister Ann Gelardo.

No Mercy. Blue Angels Fall to Division II Mercy College

NEW ROCHELLE, NY -- The College of New Rochelle welcomed Mercy College, a division II program, to the Wellness Center for a non-conference match Tuesday night.  Despite a spirited effort in front of a raucous crowd, CNR was unable to topple the Mavericks.  After dropping set one 25-16, the Blue Angels battled tooth and nail with the visitors in sets two and three, falling narrowly in each 25-22 and 25-23.

The loss marks the first time CNR has lost at home this year, snapping a 12 match streak.  With the loss the Blue Angels fall to 16-8 while Mercy notched up to 6-19 overall.

Cross Country Finishes 5th At HVIAC Championships

NEW ROCHELLE, NY -- Albany College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences junior Jessica Monzyk captured her third straight individual championship but SUNY College of Environmental Science and Forestry placed six runners in the top 10 to win the team championship as the 2015 Hudson Valley Intercollegiate Athletic Conference women's cross country championships was conducted on Sunday afternoon at the Hudson Valley Sportsdome.

 

The College of New Rochelle finished the day in 5th place.  The Blue Angels were led by senior Tayler Fisher (Wilmington, DE) who finished in 31st place.

Blue Angels Cruise to 3-0 Win Over John Jay

NEW ROCHELLE, NY -- The College of New Rochelle hosted John Jay College in Women's Volleyball action on Saturday afternoon as part of Family Weekend activites at the Wellness Center.  The end result was a 3-0 win for the home team.  The Blue Angels have now won three straight overall and 12 in a row on their home court.

The Blue Angels won by game scores of 25-21, 25-18, and 25-15 in the non-conference matchup.
