NEW ROCHELLE, NY -- Madeline (Buonocore) Rispoli, 84, a longtime resident of Tappan and New Rochelle, NY and currently of Pine Bush, NY passed away quietly on Thursday, October 15, surrounded by her beloved family. She was born in the Bronx, NY on July 7, 1931 to Carmela DelGrosso and Ernest Buonocore.

After graduating from Cathedral High School in Manhattan, in 1949, she married Ralph O. Rispoli. She and Ralph initially settled in post World War II Camp Shanks, Tappan, NY where they raised their eight children.

NEW ROCHELLE, NY -- Edward J. Ciaramella, 25, of Yorktown Hgts., N.Y. and formerly of New Rochelle, N.Y. died on Oct.15,2015. He was born on July 23,1990 to Jack and Diane (nee Zottoli) Ciaramella, Jr. in New Rochelle, N.Y. He is survived by his mother, Diane Ciaramella of Yonkers, N.Y. and his father, Jack (Dina) Ciaramella of Suffern, N.Y.; one sister, Danielle (Randy) Loayza-Ciaramella of Yonkers, N.Y.; one nephew, Alex and one niece, Annabella. Also survived by his paternal grandmother, Antoinette Ciaramella of West Harrison, N.Y. and many aunts, uncles and cousins.

Thruway Authority Announces New I-95 Northbound Traffic Pattern Between Exit 15 and New Rochelle Toll Plaza

NEW ROCHELLE, NY -- The Thruway Authority today announced a shift in traffic configuration between I-95 exit 15 (New Rochelle –US Route 1) northbound and the New Rochelle toll plaza to accommodate road rehabilitation work on the Kings Highway, Cross County Connection and Cedar Street bridges.

The adjustment to the northbound traffic configuration will shift the right and center lanes to the right, allowing for repair of the remaining bridge surfaces. There will be occasional adjustments to this configuration as work progresses.

Women's Tennis Victorious Over Vaughn College

NEW ROCHELLE, NY -- The College of New Rochelle Women's Tennis team earned its first win of the season Friday afternoon in HVIAC league action against Vaughn College. After completing doubles action with a narrow 2-1 lead, the Blue Angels took five of the six singles matches en route to a 7-2 victory.  CNR is now 1-1 in HVIAC action and 1-5 overall.

Women' s Volleyball Sweeps Sarah Lawrence

NEW ROCHELLE, NY -- The home winning streak continued Friday night for the College of New Rochelle Women's Volleyball team as they soundly swept Sarah Lawrence College in non-conference action at the Wellness Center.  With the 3-0 win, CNR improves to 15-7 while the Gryphons fall to 2-17.  The home winning streak is now 11 games in a row.

It was a contest where CNR basically led all three matches from start to finish, winning by scores of 25-9, 25-13, and 25-14.

NEW ROCHELLE, NY -- The College of New Rochelle Women's Volleyball team needed something to snap a three-game losing streak.  The solution - a home game against non-conference rival Lehman College.  The Blue Angels came into the night 9-0 at home and after a small scare by the Lightning, CNR pulled out its 10th straight win at home with a 3-1 (25-13, 24-26, 25-21, 25-14) victory.

Cross Country Competes at City College Classic

NEW ROCHELLE, NY -- The College of New Rochelle Womens Cross Country team competed with 24 other colleges Sunday afternoon in the City College Classic.  The Blue Angels had three runners compete and were led by senior Tayler Fisher (Wilmington, DE) who finished the 6k course in 119th place with a time of 32:11.

Senior Teammates Vyanna Todd (Bronx, NY) and Christine Joas (Brooklyn, NY) in 176th and 183rd respectively.  Todd's time was 37:41 while Joas clocked in at 40:09.

Finnegan's Golden Goal Lifts Monroe Men's Soccer to 1-0 Win Over ASA on Homecoming

NEW ROCHELLE, NY -- The Monroe College men's soccer team got Homecoming Weekend off to a roaring start with an exicting, 1-0, overtime victory over archrivals, ASA College, in a contest played in front of a standing room only crowd at City Park on Friday.  The golden goal, scored by Evan Finnegan, gave the throngs in attendance a reason to cheer just barely two minutes into overtime.  The marker raised the record of the team to 11-1-1 overall and 2-0 in league play.  The meeting was likely a playoff preview as the Avengers and Mustangs will meet down the road in the post season.
