NEW ROCHELLE, NY -- The Iona College men's soccer team snapped a three-game slide with a thrilling 1-0 double overtime win at Canisius Saturday night. Freshman Daniel Huertas scored his fifth goal of the season in the 103rd minute to lift the Gaels to the win.

After dropping three straight MAAC games by a single-goal, the Gaels and Griffs played more than 100 minutes of scoreless soccer before Huertas' game winner.

NEW ROCHELLE, NY -- Early Saturday afternoon, the visiting Canisius Golden Griffins scored late to sink the Iona College women’s soccer program, 1-0. The contest was the first for Brad Bolton serving as interim head coach for the Maroon & Gold.

The winning strike came in the 83rd minute when Cansisius freshman defense player Emily Czechnowski one-timed an attempted Iona clearance past senior goalkeeper Taylor Rice. The oppurtunity came after the Griffs earned a corner kick attempt, one of their five chances for the game.  It was the rookie’s first of her collegiate career.

NEW ROCHELLE, NY -- The Iona College men's and women's swimming and diving teams opened up the 2015-16 campaign in splashing style Friday with a pair of wins at Holy Cross at the Hart Center Pool.

The women's team dominated the Crusaders, taking 15 of 16 events in the meet and cruising to a 169-122 win. The men claimed 10 of 16 events, posting a 173-121 win in their first visit to the Worcester, MA pool in over two decades.

NEW ROCHELLE, NY -- The odds of finishing a regular-season with an unbeaten record are miniscule, and the Monroe College men's soccer team felt defeat for the first time in the season, with a 2-1, overtime loss to Essex County - Baltimore on Saturday in a game played at Gaelic Park in the Bronx.  The team is now 10-1-1 on the season despite the setback.

NEW ROCHELLE, NY -- A week after upsetting the #15 team in the country at home, the Monroe College football team went on the road and wasn't as fortunate, as they fell to Hudson Valley College in a game played in Troy, New York, on Saturday.  For the second straight week, the Mustangs were aided by a defensive score.
