NEW ROCHELLE, NY -- In its final non-conference game of the 2015 season, the Iona College volleyball team defeated that Hartford Hawks in four sets; 18-25, 25-19, 25-20, 25-17.  Freshman Claire Archibald led the Gaels with 14 kills on .303 hitting percentage, and senior Natalie Ziskin contributed a team-high 20 assists.

Iona College Women's Soccer Coach Resigns Unexpectedly

NEW ROCHELLE, NY -- Iona College has confirmed that Head Women’s Soccer Coach Linda Hathorn has resigned 12 games into the 2015 season. The move came amidst complaints, sources say, from parents and players quitting the team.

“Brad Bolton will be the interim head coach going forward,” said Brian Beyrer, Associate Athletic Director for Athletic Communications at Iona College.

Hathorn was hired in 2013 after serving as assistant coach at the University of Maine. She previously coached at Valparaiso, Northern Arizona and Regis.

WHITE PLAINS, NY -- Westchester  County Executive Robert P. Astorino today announced that the 24th annual Golden Harvest Awards will be presented tomorrow, October 8, from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m. Oct. 8 at Abigail Kirsch at Tappan Hill, 81 Highland Ave., Tarrytown. 

“Each year the Golden Harvest Awards recognize the outstanding contributions of those people and organizations that make Westchester such a smart place for seniors,” Astorino said. “This year’s honorees have dedicated themselves to serving seniors and have enhanced the quality of life for all Westchester residents.”

Women's Soccer Scores Season-High 13 Goals in Rout of Essex

NEW ROCHELLE, NY -- The Monroe College women's soccer team didn't let a lengthy delay affect them on Tuesday night, as they went out and scored a season-best 13 goals in a 13-1 rout of Essex County College in a game played at City Park in New Rochelle.  The goal allowed was the first goal conceded in the last four games after playing 299 minutes and 35 seconds between tallies allowed.
