Swimming Picks Up First Win Over Queensborough

NEW ROCHELLE, NY -- The College of New Rochelle Swim Team earned its first win of the season Tuesday night with a strong 74-58 win over visiting Queensborough Community College. With the win CNR improves to 1-6 on the season.

The Blue Angels won four individual events and a relay, to go along with five second place finishes as well.  The 200 medley relay team of freshmen Amanda Malone (Island Park, NY), senior Claudia Benitez (White Plains, NY), freshmen Serena Eljamal (Lagrangeville, NY), and freshmen Hailey Hall (Rouses Point, NY) took first place with a time of 2:33.56.

City College Rolls Past Blue Angels

NEW ROCHELLE, NY -- The City College of New York women's basketball team rolled past the College of New Rochelle 74-51 on Tuesday evening in non-conference action at the Nat Holman Gymnasium at City College. CNR falls to 1-2

The College of New Rochelle started the game off strong with the first four points, but CCNY quickly took control.  City went on a 17-0 run to take a 17-4 lead. The first quarter ended with a 6-2 run by the Blue Angels to cut the City lead to 19-10.

WHITE PLAINS, NY -- Westchester won another victory involving the affordable housing settlement with the federal government when the U.S. Magistrate assigned to the case ruled today that the county had provided financing for enough units to meet its 2014 benchmark and that there was no basis for the county to be held in contempt.
