NEW YORK, NY -- A piece of legislation that gives parity to the Vietnam Veterans of America with other veterans organizations was signed into law by the Governor. Today, New York State Senator Terrence Murphy, who authored the law in the Senate, was joined by Assemblyman Todd Kaminsky, the Assembly sponsor of the bill, to announce Governor Cuomo's signing of this milestone piece of legislation for New York's Vietnam veterans.

Dozens Arrested in New Rochelle on Drug Trafficking Charges in Early Morning Raid

NEW ROCHELLE, NY -- An early morning drug sweep in New Rochelle, the third of its kind over the past four years, resulted into 38 people being taken into custody.  Arrest warrants were obtained for 49 individual. Police are working to track down the remaining 11 suspects.

City Sweeper 3 was a joint operation of investigators from the New Rochelle Police Department, the Westchester County Department of Public Safety, and special agents from the FBI and DEA.

NEW ROCHELLE, NY -- The New Rochelle Fire Department today hosted their annual Promotion and Awards Ceremony. Mayor Noam Bramson and FD Chaplin Father Martin Biglin joined Chief Louis DiMelgio as he honored 50 Firefighters with the Life Saving and Unit Citation Awards. In addition, Mayor Noam Bramson sworn in Firefighter Steven Fridovich. The Ceremony was held at the Council Chambers in City Hall.

NEW ROCHELLE, NY -- Renowned Odissi dancer Dipanwita Roy will present a sparkling performance for Diwali on Sunday, November 15, at 3:00 pm, in the Ossie Davis Theater of the New Rochelle Public Library. The performance will  begin with a traditional invocatory item dedicated to Goddess Durga or Kali, who is worshipped in Eastern India during the Diwali festival. This will be followed by Sita Haran, an abhinaya (expressional piece). Excerpted from the epic Ramayana, this item will depict the abduction of Sita, Ram’s wife, by the demon Ravana.
