NEW ROCHELLE, NY -- The Con Brio Ensemble will perform a concert of chamber music in the Ossie Davis Theater of the New Rochelle Public Library on Saturday, January 9th, from 3:00 – 4:30 pm.  The program includes works by Bach, Beethoven, DeFalla, Wieniask, Deslandes, and Grovlez. 

A professional chamber music organization that has played extensively in the New York area, Con Brio Ensemble is comprised of Alexander Meshibovsky (violin), Alan Hollander (oboe), and Diana Mittler-Battipaglia (piano), who founded the group.

NEW ROCHELLE, NY -- Wish You Were Here: Postcards of New Rochelle, is the featured exhibit at the New Rochelle Public Library, from January 9th through January 30th. During the Golden Age of Postcards, at the turn of the last century, New Rochelle’s grand resorts, meandering shoreline, leafy neighborhoods, stately structures, and impressive Fort Slocum military base were captured in images for a multitude of postcards that traveled the world.

WHITE PLAINS, NY -- On Monday, the bipartisan coalition that controls the Westchester County Board of Legislators (BOL) passed a budget for 2016 that does not raise taxes and restores cuts to non-profits, parks and public safety.  This is the sixth consecutive year with no tax increase to the County tax levy.

NEW ROCHELLE, NY -- Preet Bharara, the United States Attorney for the Southern District of New York, announced that HARVEY NEWKIRK, formerly counsel at Bryan Cave LLC, the New York law firm, was found guilty today of wire fraud in connection with his participation in a scheme to fraudulently induce lenders to provide tens of millions of dollars toward the purchase of Maxim Magazine and related assets (“Maxim”).

Massive Melee Breaks Out at New Rochelle High School, Possibly Gang-Related

NEW ROCHELLE, NY -- More than 20 students are facing possible disciplinary action after a massive melee broke out on a field outside New Rochelle High School.

Police were called to the scene but no arrests were made. There were unconfirmed reports that the fight may have been gang-related.
