Brandon's 32-Points Leads CNR to Comeback Win Over Yeshiva

NEW ROCHELLE, NY -- Senior Jasmine Brandon (Jersey City, NJ) was on a mission Tuesday night.  The women's basketball forward poured in a season-high 33 points and ripped down 21 boards to lead the College of New Rochelle to a come-from-behind, fourth quarter win over Yeshiva University - 60-53.  The non-conference win pushed CNR to 5-7 overall on the year while Yeshiva falls to 0-7.

Early on, things weren't looking good for CNR.  The Blue Angels trailed most of the game and fell down by 13 mid-way through the 3rd period.

Hines and Jubenville Record Double Doubles in 73-65 Loss to Orange County College

NEW ROCHELLE, NY --  The Monroe College women's basketball team fell to 0-4 at home this season, as they fell to Orange County College, 73-65, in a game played at the Monroe Athletic Complex on Thursday.  Samantha Hines posted career highs in points (29) and rebounds (20), while Gabrielle Jubinville finished with ten and ten.  It was the seventh double-double of the season for Hines and the third for Jubinville.

Monroe Men’s Basketball Splits a Pair in Baltimore Over the Weekend

NEW ROCHELLE, NY -- The Monroe College men's basketball team moved its season record to 11-4 on the season by splitting a pair of games over the weekend.  The Mustangs defeated Chesapeake, 91-68 and fell to Baltimore City, 54-53.

Against Chesapeake, four Mustangs finished in double-figures, led by a season-high 21 points from Marcellas Anderson.  The forward shot 7-20 in the game and made all four three-point attempts.  Lukas Landgren recorded a double-double with 19 points and 11 rebounds.  Taquan Givens finished with 15 points and Will Tavares totaled 11.

Monroe College Women’s Basketball Drops District Matchup to Dean College

NEW ROCHELLE, NY -- The Monroe College women's basketball team fell to Dean College, 71-60, in a game played in Franklin, Massachusetts over the weekend.  Gabrielle Jubinville had a double-double of 21 points and 17 rebounds on 9-14 shooting.  Breanna Dennis finished with 16 points and three steals.

Monroe led at the half, 33-31, but faded down the stretch to drop to 3-10 on the season.  The Mustangs led by five points after one quarter.  The largest lead in the first was eight points, when a Fatouma Coulibaly three-pointer made the score 17-9.  The team led 17-12 after one.

NEW ROCHELLE, NY -- The Monroe College women's basketball team got an early Christmas present in the form of their first home win of the season in the opening game of the Monroe Holiday Tip-Off in New Rochelle on Saturday.  The Mustangs defeated Patrick Henry Community College, 63-50.

NEW ROCHELLE, NY -- The Monroe College women's basketball team fell to Cecil Community College, 56-53, in the final game of the Monroe Holiday Tip Off on Sunday in New Rochelle.  Four Mustangs reached double figures in the game.

With the score tied at 8-8 in the first, Samantha Hines put Monroe ahead with a layup after she got a steal on the other end of the floor.  The Mustangs closed out the scoring in the quarter with one free throw each from Fatoumata Coulibaly and Gabrielle Jubinville and led 12-9 after one.
